Post Your 1/4 Mile Times... And Your Car You Did It In...And Its History/Background.

Just interested in what other peoples cars have done, I'm expecting some awesome times from the yanks... I did
14.21s at Santa Pod in 2005 think it was in my Peugeot 205 Mi16 1905cc on Twin Weber 45's (196bhp/149lbs torque, car weighed around 880kg so around 220bhp per ton). Will try and dig out the printout, as I can't remember what speed I hit... I do know I never got the gear changes right on any of the three runs and funnily enough the first run was the quickest.

Just been rummaging through the garage and found some old photo's of the little beastie. Below pictures aren't from Sa
nta Pod, they were from another 1/4 track day for REVS magazine (can't remeber what I did that day!) that I was part of and the last two photo's were the last two pictures I ever took of him... in his last car show, with M3 side skirts and Kahn Alloys and chrome detailing... Doncaster 2006... then he was sold a couple of months later. I believe he's now got the heart of a GTi6 with throttle bodies and was at the Nurburging last year...

It went through all the stages including a chav stage as of the times... bear in mind in the UK late 90's to around 2006, the modified hot hatch scene was enormous then, and now it's nothing, very odd how it declined... possibly becuase hot hatches are now super quick and they weren't years ago?

Need another love affair now, doing my Direct Access Bike Licence, and going to buy a Honda CBR600F next month... however I'll always love my cars and it's either going to be a M3 or M5 me thinks... not sure it'll feel like the ole' Pug though.

All runs were at Cordova Dragway in Cordova, Illinois USA.

    The Daily Driver, best recorded run is 15.06 @ 93.2mph w/2.3 second 60', but have gone 14.7 @ 95.5mph.
240bhp | 3730lb Race weight (aka as it sits at the line with me in it).

    The Toy's best recorded run was 13.35 @ 102.8mph on a 1.93 60' foot.
260hp stock + full bolt-ons. Race weight is 3750lbs with me, laptop bag (25lbs on its own) and various items. I almost never do weight reduction at the track. I remove loose objects but all stuff is in the car (jack, spare, etc...) If I removed the seats/jack/etc I'd get better times but it wouldn't be a "true" measure of how it drives on the street.

Now that the 6spd manual is in I don't expect to touch low 13's really, I don't think I'll be able to launch it and shift it as consistently as needed in the 1/4 mile.

Exhaust cut-out closed. Heating the tire is worth a consistent .25 seconds in the ET.

Exhaust cut-out open. This run I had the cut-out open, but didn't do burnouts so cold tires made the ET slower. Air was also worse. I was fighting a consistent knock condition with the engine at 5800rpm+

    17.x @ 79mph or something that i can't really remember.

    1993 Ford Escort 1.9L SOHC, 88hp, 110lb/ft. 2400lb curb weight. 19.2 @ 71mph.

Cheers for posting matey, that's exactly what I want this thread to be... some great video's there... "The Toy" sounds superb though I reckon I'd have shaved another 0.25s or so off possibly dipping below 14 if I'd ran with the 16's on, problem was liek you I was running this car as is, no stripping out, it was my daily car and like you whatever was in it, stayed in it... and I loved the look of the 17" wheels on it... so...

My best and only time so far is 13.540. Don't have trap speed for that as it was recorded in a mile challenge event. Clutch was slipping and wasn't really trying a quarter... This summer I should get some proper times.

I need to get my Evo IX on the strip, never done it. My tuner said that I should be around a 12.9 with my current tune (24 lbs boost and launch controller for the AWD) but that's all hearsay until you actually get it down the strip...

Man get down there and film it when you do... have to admit, I found it hard to get traction and not spin the front wheels... be so much better if the Pug had been rear wheel drive... but hey, wouldn't have had the same "ohhhh shhheetttt" feeling going around some mad track days...

If youv'e got launch control, that realllly helps man...
