Who gots it and are you happy with it?
It's going to replace an Audigy 4 PCI
Will Quake III Arena play a 700 FPS now? :-)
But seriously, any feedback would be cool.

Nobody has this card?
I think you're the first person here to talk about it, lol. I still have my x-Fi Titanium from 2008, so far it seems to do the job. I was thinking about Recon3D but let me know how it is once you have it!![]()
The limit of 5.1 and it just being an old chip rebranded put me off.

Old chip rebranded? It's newer tech than my Audigy 4, granted it's almost a year old but it's the latest they got no?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_Blaster
"The Recon3D series were released in August 2011 and include PCI Express x1 cards such as Recon3D PCIe, Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional and Recon3D Fatal1ty Champion. The cards use the new integrated Sound Core3D chip, which features the Quartet DSP from the X-Fi series as well as integrated DAC, ADC and I/O interface in a 56-pin package. [4]
Reviews have been generally positive, but pricing and small model differences have raised questions. Especially the low and mid priced models Recon3D PCIe and Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional have only cosmetic differences, but considerable price difference. More expensive one, the Professional, includes microphone, some red LED lights and a metal shroud over the board, but has no real hardware improvements. [5] [6]"
Well I'll let you know what it's like, but I see what Pottsey might be talking about here:
http://techreport.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=79438
"From sound core 3d press release:
"It incorporates Creative's innovative Quartet DSP with four independent processor cores"
From original X-FI review from anandtech in 2005:
"X-Fi Quartet DSP is so named because it supports 4 hardware threads"
"Quartet is made up of 4 independent two-issue SIMD engines...Each thread has access to two SIMD"
"To sum up the capabilities of the Quartet DSP, we have this list of features:
2 SIMD units per each of 4 simultaneous threads
fixed and floating point data supported
235 opcodes
up to 1200 MIPS
can perform up to 4 moves per instruction"
Although it sound like the same Quad core tech, is it the same architecture?
I had it since early this month
I got it to replace my Auzentech Bravura I thnk it was?
the pci E version
well it was like giving sounds of reverberations over and over kind of like dubstep but over and over kind of like probably what people in hell are listening to on no repeat
it's not the drivers cause it happens even at bios
I changed it and it's fixed well this sound card put my Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultra into 3D mode
without the settings of max surround max crystalizer and the v shape of the EQ that I like it doesn't sound 3D
games are really really 3D with it

So I got the card today and installed it. First impressions.
1) Creative software sucks donkey nuts. The control panel takes 2 minutes to load and when it does you can fiddle with the features in the tab that is selected. If you want to change the selected item it freezes longer than I have patience for, so I kill the process.
2) My reference song is Stevie Ray Vaughn's cover of little wing. I have a 128 Kbps mp3 version. I am hearing details I never heard before on my Sennheiser HD 435 headphones. I'm picking up the buzz of the guitar amp.
3) Everyday windows sounds are more vibrant and colourful. (not cheesy either)
4) The newest game I have is Unreal Tournament 3 but again it sounds great with a fuller sound over all with much more detail.
5) Star Trek on Blu-Ray sounds great as well. Much more detail in the environmental sound.
Previous card was an Audigy 4
So 4 on 5 for sound quality
and 2 on 5 for software
I will probably uninstall all the crap and just leave the drivers installed.
Haha, damn you guys! I just ordered the cheap version from Amazon it was $3 off and free shipping. I was thinking of the good old Audigy days and how the audigy 2 was so much better than the original. I've been using onboard sound since Vista came out.![]()
the 3D is another world
if Soundblaster seem to make this tech for home theater recievers they would sell all of them
