Understood, as a lot of the trip could be extremely high altitude. But, as far as I've read, they still rely on atmospheric oxygen for the final combustion.Did you watch the behavior of the aliens near the portal? Seemingly no effect (though one could argue they were barely affected on earth as it is). If anything the differences in pressures would have the opposite effect.Gravity from earth being translated through the portal maybe?

Nope, solid fuel rockets do not need any outside conditions to burn. When both the fuel and the oxidizer are in the "Solid Fuel", all you need is heat to kick off the reaction.
It's the same thing as gunpowder. You can fire a gun underwater, or even in space, because the fuel and it's oxidizer are both contained within the gunpowder.
This is why SPIDER-MAN didn’t make it into the final cut of Avengers..
