EA making a grab for more Origin customers, stealing them directly from Steam.

You know that EA have been pushing customers with registered games onto Origin, it seems as if this time they are using the SecuRom reactivation reset issue.

If you own a SecuRom protected title even if you bought it online via Steam EA have stopped adding more activations to your key with an apology and have instead started offering a replacement Key for Origin. This has understandably angered some customers who have thus far avoided installing Origin.

Yeah i heard about this when people are running out of activations on their crysis warhead games, and now EA is just giving them free origin keys.

EA has nothing left to get me to come back as a customer and I am happy with that. Bioware is not the same as it once was, Battlefield series is now the CoD series(chasing main stream casual bro dollars), I dont care about crysis 3 or need for speed games. EA has no titles or IPs I am interested in and am happy to say I no longer care about anything they produce. =)

It doesn't seem to effect any other EA games on Steam. Why only Crysis Warhead? And, oddly, you can still purchase Crysis Warhead on Steam.

Pretty sure all of Origin's current customers have come from Steam already.

No this isn't going to make people switch to Origin. It is going to make them pirate the game.

Just another reason why EA is the ****ing scum of the Earth. Come on guys, we need to teamup and not purchase an EA game again.

This company needs to die and fast. They are killing the game industry.

Calling EA the scum of the Earth is a bit wacky. I'm sure there are companies doing much worse to the planet and us than EA.

They even compared themselves to overseas oil companies, weapons manufacturers, and banks. Quite an astute observation on their part.

Well, if you bought and paid for the game, is downloading a 'fix' really considered piracy just because you ran out of activations? Hate to say it but if I ever ran into that situation, I probably would too, EULA be damned.
