WOW! I havent been here for ages! the place loooks nice - keep it up!
Anyway I'm having a major issue at the minute and Ive looked everywhere and tried everything I could find but to no avail.
Several times a day, the network gets the little yellow triangle and the default gateway becomes unavailable and means I lose internet connectivity. At the same time, other devices (xbox ipod etc) are continuing to work normally.
I have to click on the network icon and select troubleshoot for it to be fixed.
This is happening more and more frequent. Its taken me around 3 connections just to write this post!
Anyone got any ideas? im on win7 64 and I have a Realtek PCI gibabit network card (brand new, the built in LAN has same issue, hence the new one!)
tweaking windows 7 net connection tends to screw it up. Never seen the problem with vista or before but with 7 if you tweak the settings for lan it seems to cause problems. Try uninstalling your lan/s and let windows reinstall upon reboot. Then don't do any tweaks.. Hopefully that is your problem and this will fix it for you..
Hey dude thnx for replying.
Nah aint got any tweaks on mate, everything is as default as I can get them.
Even done a couple of fresh windows installs :(
I would check for updated lan drivers from the board manufacturer and then check for newer than that from the lan chip manufacturer. I lay odds it's a driver issue that can be solved. It would help to have the board specs so I can see what I can dig up.
It's not a bad idea to swap out cables to eliminate that as a cause. With both the onboard and lancard doing the same thing it could very well be a bad cable..
Hi guys and thanks again for replying. I will try a new cable! I think ive tried everything else suggested (virus scan, latest drivers for network card etc)
Strange but it seems to be happening almost instantly when utorrent is on. the rest of the time I could be an hour before it goes down......?
