3DMark 11 won't start benchmarks

My system:
GA-970A-UD3 motherboard with Phenom II 965, 8Gb mem.
Windows 7 64-bit, Radeon HD 5770.

Regardless of resolution, you get the 'please wait' dialog then the 3DMark 11 Workload screen tries to launch/open.
The 'please wait' dialog is still open although not pushed to front.
App gets stuck there. Task manager still shows 3DMark in running state.

Had latest catalyst version running but I did re-install all drivers supplied with mobo cd.

Any ideas? Are any logs generated?

Have you updated SystemInfo to latest (4.8)?

Edit: also depending on your exact monitor config, you may have to switch between "stretched" and "centered" in 3DMark 11 settings as some configs only accept one of these two modes.

Setting it to stretched mode worked. Although I got a popup window saying 3DMark lost exclusive control of display. I turned off my screen capture program and the issue was resolved.

Thank-you for your help.

The problem was actually the screen capture software (Ashampoo snap 4) which was running in the background.
