What it must have
12" to 14" screen
Dual Core
SSD
USB3.0
optical drive
WIFI
UMTS ( HSPA/HSDPA/HSUPA )
HDMI
Webcam
Any recommendations? The less weight the better of course, even if it costs more.

I have this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Moleskine-La...4931070&sr=8-5
Love it.
I just read a review on the HP Folio 13, which was mixed. Seems the Dell XPS 13 is a favorite if you're looking for an ultrabook.

For purely business use, the Lenovos are nice. Can you hold out for Ivy Bridge?

I would say you can't go wrong with either Asus or MSI.
No offense to you Quantumdefect, but from personal experience, Lenovo's are the last notebook I would recommend anyone getting. To many issues with them. They put too much bloatware that can cause problems if you try to remove it, and I've seen software conflicts with some of the hardware they use. Primarily the fingerprint readers in some of their models. Lenovo's are the #1 problem notebooks that come across my desk.

Notice I didn't say all Lenovo notebooks are the best, I said that the X220 is the best business notebook I have used. Current one is running XP pro, one at my last company was a W7 pro, both custom corporate builds so I can't really comment on bloatware.

Toshibas Ultrabook, do you really need that optical drive?
The HP Folio failed miserably in the CT review.
I wouldn't have thought you'd need a permanent DVD drive. A USB Writer is about £20-£25.
