Id have to agree, I dont really care for any of 360s exclusives. PS3's exclusives IMO are much better than 360s. I still like Nintedo exclusives the best, but they are in need of facelifts and less lower quality spinoffs.

With some of those big name games in there, seems like this thing should be pretty decent. At least easy/easier to port to. Maybe because it is on-par with current generation, or is better than current generation. At least that list looks more interesting than the best top 20 list currently on the Wii imo.
Looks like a list of a lot of ported games from this gen to me [thumbdown]

Looks like Nintendo is finally making a console that can compete with the PS3/X-Box360

From this gen? How about the x360/ps3 are getting ports from the new generation as most these games won't be out until the Wii U is out.
Plus there is a HUGE difference from the PS3/x360 to PC on these games. So if the Wii U can close this gap, all the better. Maybe actually be able to render true 720p and hopefully even 1080p.
Hey, at least they are getting ports now right. Seems like a good sign for those people who want to play the same game on the PS3, x360, PC and Wii U. Seems like the only difference is going to be exclusives, 1st party games, and who can be the most creative with their non-standard controllers.

The Wii from the beginning was never a console to compete against those guys. Really in a league of its own.

Dreamcast was a great machine, it also had some good games. It's failure came about from its almost non existent copy protection. Never ever write off Nintendo. Everyone said they had messed up with teh 3DS, yet it is selling in droves now. The Wii was laughed at, yet it outsold the PS3 and XBox for years, while making a profit from day one.

It is no way a Dreamcast 2!

I'm not forecasting doom and gloom with that statement. I'm saying it's doing a lot of things the Dreamcast did. Launching so late in the life of the other consoles, it'll probably be capable of more impressive visuals, but will get a lot of minorly-upgraded cross-platform stuff. However, it's been called a Dreamcast 2 for a far more obvious reason (there's a bloody screen in the controller!!!).

Re: Nintendo Wii U costs £190 to make - sub £250 launch price possible?

Price tag + the fact that Nintendo never sells hardware at a loss (unlike MS/Sony) tells me plenty about the lack of muscle in the hardware. Sounds like the rumors that it can barely match Xbox 360 / PS3 in raw pixel pushing (even if it adds DX11 features) are probably true.

At the same time everyone has 1080p TVs so the raw number of pixels needed to draw on screen are ballooning - Xbox 360 and PS3 never could really do 1080p level stuff without sacrificing a lot in visuals and you'd really need 4-6x pixel pushing capabilities to do modern visuals at 1080p...

But hey, at least it has a fancy controller!

I think what you will find is that it will have Xbox 360 / PS3 level graphics, with more use of AA/AF and full 1080p @ 60fps. It will get left behind when the Xbox 720/PS4 comes around in terms of graphical prowess, feature set and games library.

That's not really 360/PS3 level of graphics then. That said, I even think it'll struggle for 1080p @ 60fps, having to render to the controller simultaneously.

Also, I don't think the 720/PS4 will be that much better. I think the 720 will be Kinect orientated.
