Properly built V8's sound epic. Love the Z4 audio.
This is another of my favs for the noise.. The guy is passing everyone like they are standing still. I don't know what class they are running compared to him, but his Vette is off the hook and on the rails. Its like the frame rate is sped up, but its all real. And the noise of that Gen3 SBC spinning to god knows what. Awesome.

I like the sound, but the V8 engine design has only a partial key to that. It's more the exhaust system that passes on the roaring to our ears I believe.
That Vette sounds good, but is not my fav... I like your trans am better!
The differences you here are likely because the Vette is an entirely different V8 with a different firing order. The #4 and #7 cylinders are swapped, as well #3 and #2 cylinders too.
Results in a different sound.
I could have a custom camshaft ground for my car to do this, wouldn't cost much more than a normal firing order custom cam.
I'd have to alter the injector firing order though, or re-wire the harness.

Does it give any more benefits to rearrange firing sequence of the cylinders than sound?
It allows for more even air distribution from the plenum. The traditional SBC firing order has 2 pairs of cylinders 4&7, and 2&3 that pull from the same side of the plenum right next to each other in the firing order.
1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2
New Order:
1,8,7,2,6,5,4,3
The cam firing order change results in a smoother firing order, and small but measurable gains on a dyno.
Its actually the same firing order as a Small Block Ford as well.
