    Exactly.

Most "LED" monitors are edge lit. Simply awful.

Get at least a 2011 model Samsung SMART TV.

LCD-edge lid or whatever. This TV brings em down all. [good]

Re: LCD vs LED backlit Image Quality Campare

Isn't image quality much more dependent on the panel than the lighting?

I do not think that any one lighting technique is better than the other. Which ever can provide the most uniformly distributed light that is closest to white is best. Yes, LED is newer, but in some cases CCFL is still better at fulfilling the metrics I listed.

The only really objective statement that I can make is that LED lighting technology has a significantly higher ceiling due to its infancy.

Yes the picture is alright but the motion handling isnt great and the banding and backlight uniformity are garbage.

LCD would he inaccurate as well as LED TVs are LCD TVs. LED is the type of light, LCD is the type of TV. CCFL would be more accurate.

It really depends on the quality of the TV, but I feel that LED is capable of better IQ in a quality TV contest vs the different tech.
