well i know my cpu does 5.0, ive benched 3dmark11 at that speed on my old video cards. Might be able to get a bit more than that.

Only reason i stopped with the video cards is because i dont have AB installed yet, i should be able to crush my current score.

ideally i want to beat my old score with my pair of 6970s

Haven't quite worked it out yet but I get the display driver crashing in a random pattern. For example if I overclock the memory first I can increase +600 without performance drops BUT core will only OC to +170 without driver crashing. If I overclock core first I can get +190 on the core but only +200 on the memory before the driver craps out on me. Also increasing vcore is a total waste of time as the card will increase dynamically to the same level as it needs it. What I mean by this is that the card starts at .987v and will increase consumption to a maximum of 1.175v dynamically during a test or a game and then will lower to .987v when back in 2d. If I use afterburner or Precision to increase volts to 1.175v it just stays there at this level in 2d or 3d which obviously raises temps and makes no sense. Do not bother increasing vcore as it is basically useless and may in fact be detrimental due to increased heat.

    Anyhow:

    10215 MSI GTX 680 OC @ stock vcore 1293 Core 1855 Memory http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3119337 Performance

    3713 MSI GTX 680 OC @ stock vcore 1293 Core 1855 Memory http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3119361 Extreme.

I will be getting my waterblock next week but seeing how I am unable to raise vcore and my temps are not bad I believe that I have tapped out this particular card. Perhaps I will get another 10-20mhz on the core!
    Nice dude!

I was under the impression that adjusting vcore on the 680s does absolutely nothing. Only adjusting the power % does something. I set mine straight to 132% (max in AB) when clocking.

I found the same thing with the memory and how it affects the core. Also, after a driver crash I always reboot with this card as it doesn't seem to be stable again until a reboot. Weird for sure and time consuming.

Personally I think that the HD 7970 scales better when overclocked, shame the drivers are not that impressive for CF..... Hoping I get my waterblock in before weekend so that I can break down my pc and rebuild the loop. I also managed to score a new SATA lll 240gb SSD, I have one of the original 120gb OCZ SATA ll Agility drives and this is showing its age these days. The new SanDisk Extreme with 22nm Toggle NAND should be blazing fast in comparison, although it will not score me any more points in 3DMark :-)

Looking forward to Nvidias new set of drivers to play with too....

    i7 at 4.2Ghz
    single 680GTX
    settings +32%TDP, +140Mhz gpu, +250Mhz mem
Readings during benchmark 1215Mhz GPU 1628 MEM

    http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3122253 - P10254, Graphics score 10704
    http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3122146 - X3715, Graphics score 3434 (mem was 1615 on this one)

Apparently I can go higher on memory (& cpu could do better) so this is not a max test.

You beat his graphic score roughly 700 points, but his i7 5GHz gained CPU 3000 points and that's hard to match.

    Great score.
As I noticed higher memory won't give you extra points, but CPU clock is where you have possible 3 digit points to gain.

Yep, spot on Drago. I will have my waterblock tomorrow so I may be able to squeeze a bit more out of my GPU to compensate for the cpu differences :-)

Even in virtual world we are hitting the horse that pulls better, not the lazy one lol.
