Hi Futuremark,
Can 3DMARK Vantage run under Win8 OS?
Hi Futuremark,
Can 3DMARK Vantage run under Win8 OS?
Yes but you may have issues with SystemInfo. We'll have an update to it over the next 2-3 weeks.
Until then you can either disable SystemInfo or disable the CPUID tickbox in FMSIDiag.exe (disabling the offending module).
Note that 3DMark Vantage is not yet officially supported on beta versions of Windows 8 and we have not yet completed QA verification to ensure that all test scores are behaving as expected. On the other hand, we have not seen or heard of any other issues beyond the SystemInfo incompatibility.
Hi Jarnis,
The customer reported, during running 3DMARK vantage, the system stuck "scanning system" and pop up 3DMARK vantage has stopped working. This was happend on specific M/B.
Asus P8Z68-V PRO and P9X79. Bun under win7 OS. It can't report it.
Have any idea to check it?
There will be an update to SystemInfo that will fix this issue in the near future.
In the meanwhile you can get it to run by going to this folder;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Futuremark Shared\Futuremark SystemInfo
and running FMSIDiag.exe
Select "control" tab, uncheck "Enable CPUID Info", apply, exit program, re-run benchmark.
Side effects may include inability to properly identify the CPU used.
However, this workaround is officially unsupported and we have not yet fully validated our benchmarks for Windows 8 (there is no final Windows 8 available yet either) so any benchmark results obtained this way should be considered preliminary.
New SystemInfo that should fix the outstanding compatibility issues with Win 8 is out now. More here;
