Couldn't agree more. Given all the custom components and needed software like the latest direct x or old drivers conflicting with newer drivers and such....it's really hard to point the finger. I never understood why a person would "roll back" a driver when you should just UNINSTALL and rid yourself of that driver and call it a day. Not to mention why would someone come online to start a rant about how much they hate a company without mentioning what issue they are having. I've rarely had any driver problem from Nvidia nor ATI and when I do, I TROUBLESHOOT the issue instead of making a rant thread about it. 8X PCI-E.....and this guy has the nerve to blame ATI/AMD for his issue? gtf outta hea'. [wtf]

Yeah because it takes a 200 IQ genius to install/uninstall the drivers and yeah it is your fault when your puter BSODs with a atiomfglmfao.dll message.
ATi hardware had always had crappy hardware compatibility. Just because a certain driver works perfect on your rig doesn't mean it works the same on some other config. This is why you are seeing so many people going like WTF is this guy talking about, the last like five sets worked great on my PC. He's a newb.
Its minimal at best, maybe slightly worse than Nvidia. But your chances of finding a conclusive hardware compatibility issue is slim at best. To prove that show me any conclusive cases of any particular hardware not working with an ATI card/driver.
The nforce 3 didnt even work in windows 7/Vista so Nvidia are hardly perfect either.
Though that being said, ATIs AGP drivers were pretty terrible, with the whole special ATI GART driver just to get them to work properly. Nvidia also had these issues, i still remember all the special options in Rivatuner to get nvidia AGP cards to play properly with certain chipsets.
Thankfully those days are long gone, those were real driver issues.
Whereas somebody trying to apply super sampled AA in a game that uses a deferred rendering engine and then getting artefacts or no AA...thats just users being stupid and not understanding the software, these days thats often the case.
If you read the whole thread you would see that I mentioned what type of issues I'm having. As for running 8X Pci-e, I have no choice at the moment until I remove the "Thermal Armor" on my Sabertooth P67. (The fan blocks my top PCI 1X slot, so my Xonar STX is in the 2nd PCI-E slot)
Funny how you say "I have the nerve to blame ATI/AMD for my issue" when it was a few forum members that told me "Not to worry about running 8X, you won't see a difference". The only reason I asked again is to get a few more opinions, that's all. I'm trying to fix my issues here so I can enjoy my 7970...
I've been here for nearly 10 years, I'm not some random idiot. This is turning in to a bash thread for absolutely no reason. I'm entitled to my own opinion...And I'm fairly certain that a good amount of people will stand by my opinion.
So let me get this straight....Instead of helping someone (Which you're probably not knowledgeable enough to do) you just tell them to get the **** out of here? Really?

Gee you think my feelings get hurt when you call me a faggot in farsi? (kuni)
Over my head? Give me a break... The virtual environments I've built from the ground up for the government would make your pathetic head explode.
You are the Rick Santorum, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and so on of the PC enthusiast world. You are no better or worse than Chaotika the ati fanboy.
My experience with Nvidia and Ati have been both good and bad. I have no favorites... what ever is the best price/performance ratio at the time is what I buy.
