    Big things have been happening behind the scenes

    Just posted on Facebook:

    Big things have been happening behind the scenes, and today we can finally reveal that Futuremark Games Studio has been acquired by Rovio Entertainment, creator of Angry Birds. The deal was signed yesterday and we have already started working for our new avian masters.

    Building great communities was always one of the aims of our studio, so we would like to thank everyone who supported us here on Facebook or elsewhere. Look out for great things from Rovio in the future!

    Kingkatt.. does this mean, that "Futuremark Games Studio" is completly closed?
    No more games from FM?

    I mean dont get me wrong.. Rovio made a very good move with acquiring great devs..

    Sadly Michael, that is exactly what it means. All game projects have been cancelled though we are exploring options for the XBLA version of Unstoppable Gorg as it is reasonably close to completed.

    Really sad news. SH will always be a classic in my opinion. Wishing all the very best to the whole team.

    kickstarting the remaining development on that SH follow-up shooter we saw the teaser for might well see it get finished (assuming Rovio haven't buried all the rights).
