Ordered an EVGA one from dabs for £385 delivered using that SPRING25 code. Can't believe I've spent so much on a graphics card [no]

That is not the air intake at the end of the card. The air intake is through the center of the fan. It's a basic centrifugal fan.

Congrats. [yes] No such thing as spending too much money on graphics cards.

Thanks for the heads up, can't beat free so I registered for one. I'm a little worried about the ice though, won't that wreck the card?

How does it work with the cards all squashed up next to each other?

Apparently 3 and 4 card sli is fine with the stock cooler, I was worried about covering the fans so went looking and see people saying the slot on the end is the air intake.

I thought you were joking. Do not trust everything you see.
Fins on the card rotor suck the air in.

You must leave card 5 minutes on the sun before use

How the hell is it a disappointment ?

It's less power hungry, quieter, faster than a 7970 and to top it off, it's cheaper as well.

Why should nvidia price their better product a hundred less than AMD's weaker part ?

It's AMD who needs to knock off a good 100 pounds off the price of the 7970 if they intend to sell any more of them.

Just read the whole thread please.

I did not say it was a disappointment overall.

It is a very good card.... I just said if it was £100 cheaper it would have been properly awesome.... Considering it only has 2gb ram and a 256bit memory bus and is sort of supposed to be a mid range card.

Midrange card that hits the current ATI top-end. Why would they put out a card that is another 20% faster than the 680 when they have the lead in single-chip devices and leave no room to eek out more money from consumers with OCD?
