So is the the card that can finally run Cryis full maxed out with copious amounts of AA and AF @ 60+ FPS?

If you check Hardocps 680 v 7970 overclocking review, they also say:
Something else they discovered that was very interesting, the memory overclock can have direct effect on the gpu clocks, after the memory reaches a certain frequency the gpu starts to downclock:In BF3 we see that the clock speed is maintaining a consistent 1228MHz. What's even more interesting is the voltage reading. The voltage has now increased up to 1.162, but the slider only goes up to 1.150. It is possible that the higher fan speed, i.e. cooler GPU temperatures, has allowed GPU Boost to utilize higher voltages, beyond what the slider supports in the software. At 1.162v the GPU is capable of 1228MHz. This makes us think that higher voltages should yield impressive overclocks, especially if GPU temperatures can be kept cool.
Interesting stuff. The memory overclock was also a learning experience for us. We found that there was a point at which overclocking the memory hurt the total GPU Boost overclock frequency. For example, +700 memory was stable, but we found that with +700 memory frequency the total GPU Boost was no longer 1181MHz. In fact, it was under 1100MHz, severely impacting the GPU frequency. When we set the memory down to +600 GPU Boost went back up to 1181MHz. For safe measure, and to make sure we could obtain the highest GPU clock speed we kept the memory at +500, which is 7GHz total. Therefore the key isn't to overclock the memory as high as it will go now, the key is to overclock it to the line at which GPU Boost starts to degrade in performance, then back it down some, and that's your highest memory overclock.![]()

Bye bye Q9550. So far so good. Stable at this.
Idle temps on CPU are 39 degrees. At load 40-ish degrees.
Cancelled my order for the EVGA GTX680 I placed on March 24th since they're now saying it'll be June/July before they receive additional stock.![]()
If you don't want to wait for EVGA (I wanted them also but in the end went with ASUS) OCUK have plenty of Gainward, Gigabyte and a few own brand in stock.

480SLI is fast enough at least, but the game doesn't scale well to multiple cores and I sometimes see a drop from 60 with one core maxed out on a 5ghz 2500K.
