From what I read they all use the same LG panel. I have the Dell Ultrasharp and do not like the anti glare coating. I would also stay away from glossy screens.

I do however like the extra screen space and 16:9 ration for gaming.

Yeah I've read a lot about these screens recently and I mentioned them in another thread. I'm itching to get one myself. I'm thinking Catleap would be nice a good choice because I know for a fact they can do like 120-130Hz refresh.

They can't anymore, revision B could. But they stopped at the end of Feb and we started getting revision C's... now we are on D's neither of which can overclock.

However there is a guy at overclock.net that is working on getting the rev. B PCB's and selling them separately, they may also be doing a guaranteed 100hz model monitor (120hz only works on some GPU's at 1440p)

Re: Cheap 27" 2560x1440 IPS panels

Are there any advantages to one model over the other? Or is it mainly just aesthetics and connections?

My main concern with these screens is the input lag.

    Just aesthetics and connections.

I'd go for the yamakasi dvi only model, there is basically nothing between the DVI connection and the panel, so input lag will be minimal.

Also with the yamakasi you may later be able to buy a PCB that does 120hz.

Im quite like the look of the Crossover but the Catleap (this name actually made me ROFL) seems to be getting quite good feedback. After being let down by a misleading thread on HUKD im tempted to go for one of these. The Catleaps can be had for a smidgen over £200

It's what I've been looking at. Been reading
the thread over OCUK and if I can get it for £220ish with no duty, that's saving over £300?

Actually seem worth taking the risk, quite a lot of positive feedback on the OcUK thread. So tempted, hmm. Best to go with someone who doesnt use FedEx though, they seem to have admin fees after duty..

From what I've read some sellers mark as $30 gift. It's pretty obvious if I was an employee for the Queen's Customs that isn't going to add up. People who've had $140-$150 value are more lucky. Delivery is fast as hell as well.

Oh yeah, but when FedEx deliver it, you dont get the duty note straight away, just a bit later.

Very tempted, seen a nice Crossover with roatey stand for £220

    Anyone else bought one?
