PC turning off after being powered on for a while.

For the last 3 or 4 days, when turning on my PC, after 1 second or so, it turns off (before the bios shows up on the screen), and after 2 or 3 seconds it powers on, this time, it doesnt shuts down again. I dont know why is this happening, I thought it was some kind of problem with the electricity, but its happening all the time. My PSU is on my signature, thanks for helping me!.

I've seen Asus boards do this a lot, but I'm not sure why.

It could even be something as simple as a flaky power button. How old is the case, is the button loose?

Have you tried holding the power button in, or tapping it on quickly with the tip of your finger?

(Yes, I know it sounds stupid, but it's just a suggestion, and it's quick. )

mm, I use Asus motherboards since 2004 more or less. My last board was an A8N-SLI Premium and it didnt had this problem, even with an generic PSU I had (from MTEK).

Nothing is stupid lol I tried what you said, but it didnt worked. After doing many times, one of the times shutting down the PC because of too long pressing the power button, after powering it on, it didnt powered off as mentioned at the start of the thread. Also, my case is like 7 or 6 years old.

I have an ASUS board as well and it was doing it. I was like WTF?

It did it for a few weeks and one of my Western Digital Blacks died. Replaced the drive and it ain't doing it any more.

Gigabyte boards do it a lot. It's called a boot loop. Clear CMOS if that doesn't help it's time to buy a new CPU, GPU or Mobo.

Re: PC turning off after being powered on for a while.

It seems that the way of pressing hard and pressing one little time worked, now I dont have any problem. But after that, it appeared at my BIOS that my overcloaking failed to load. I never overcloaked my machine. So, I put it to restore the default values, and the problem, gone.
