PC is crashing on physics test

Few days ago I’ve downloaded 3dmark 11 basic edition. No matter what I do, my PC is always crashing on Physics Test, it’s running for 3 seconds and then crashes whole PC, vertical lines on the screen and hard reset required to bring PC back to live. I’ve tried many different versions of drivers (Catalyst 10.12, 11.11, 12.1, 12.2), I’ve tried new fresh system installation and nothing helps.

    Please find below my specification.
    OS: Win 7 64bit
    CPU: I7 2600k
    RAM: 16GB - CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B
    MOBO: ASUS P8Z68-V GEN3
GPU: SAPPHIRE HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 PCIE - single fan
    PSU: 750W G7 Extreme Modular

Physics test stresses the CPU only and does so very hard. I would suspect some kind of hardware issue around the CPU / CPU cooling or perhaps the power supply. Check that the CPU cooler is firmly attached? Check that CPU temperatures are not getting too high?

I’ve checked CPU temperature and it was crazy hot 80-90 degrees in 1 minute under full load. I’ve replaced cooler, temperature is down to around 50 and it’s stable.
Unfortunately it didn’t resolve my problems with Physics test.

Unfortunately I can't say anything more than "no it is not". Considering how much validation the Physics test went through before the benchmark was released (and the number of submits we get every day without the test failing), there really is only one possibility; there is still something wrong with the system. Worst case; those runs at 80-90c damaged the CPU.
