I tried starting skyrim on my parents computer and my savegames were intact on there. No idea why it would not work for you.

On another note: the skyrim savegames are huge. I deleted everything except my latest save to get som room back. This is perhaps why it would not save to cloud as I guess they don't want people uploading several gb of data on there.

Ah yes, I had a look in steam and 50mb is max size for cloud storage for skyrim, I have 26mb stored, that fits perfect with what is in my save folder on c:

Funny enough many other games like bastion says 100mb available... why they would limit skyrim to 50mb is odd. Just noticed saints row 2 says 1gb available lol

    Re: Steam Question

Skyrim is NOT a Steam Cloud game. Have tried it on multiple machines.

I also use Dropbox/symbolic links, although that SugarSync looks a bit easier. Is there some kind of catch?

No catches. It is free for 5GB and works very well. Although Dropbox is superior in calculating binary diff of files in my experience. Also SS seems to lock the file while it's transferred while with DB you can edit the file normally when it's uploading. This might be a bad thing in some cases as you either have to stop the sync to save the file again or wait for it to finish syncing.

    Re: Steam Question

    Thumb resize.

Proof, I just started it on my work computer and my saves were intact. it DOES support cloud saves.
I started skyrim this morning, cleared all the saves that were old and made a new hard save, exited the game and this is the result on my work computer.
excuse the low res but this comp sucks and it took about 20 minutes to load the main menu

I guess that your savegame folder is to big to be saved on the cloud if it does not work for you.

    Re: Steam Question

Well other then clicking the steam exe in the folder and deleting ClientRegistry.blob I had to redownload steam to get some games to work correctly.

This only offers 2GB which can be expanded for free, but you get encryption for those concerned about privacy.

This is what we use at work for backups.
