Can you even get a 1080p CRT tv though?
Ewwwww 4:3 lol
Ewww CRT.
Anyway, the TV should upscale to 100hz but you're still getting 50hz input from the PC of course, so that's 50fps for gaming and vsync considerations.
Hmmm I will have to wait and see I guess but surely 50hz vsync @ 100hz... will cause some problems such as doubling the frames and stuttering maybe? Oh well I will have to just try it and see I should get it start of next week... Hmmmm how bad is the IR on plasmas in 2012? Is it overstated by people or will playing a game for 3 hours burn the HUD into the screen?
I don't see why it would cause stuttering, but on my Panny it does cause image doubling. Luckily I have no reason to ever use 50hz but it would certainly be an issue for me, mostly in games running 50fps. I do also notice the framerate difference between 50 and 60fps. There's more input lag and motion is marginally less fluid.
I've been using my G30 for over a month now as a full-time PC monitor. I get retention but it goes away when displaying moving images for a while. No burn-in so far.

So do you play at 60hz on your panny? Eugh I don't see how you can not see the flickering if you play at 60hz! Seems that some people are bothered by it and some aren't :S
Yup 60hz. I see the flickering but it doesn't bother me to any meaningful extent.
