27 inch led monitor or 32 inch led tv?

G'day peeps!, thinking replacing my 24inch lcd monitor to bigger monitor but with budget below us$350.
(24inch monitor will replace my 20inch monitor for my backup rig).

The thing it's lately i noticed for a 27inch lcd led monitor price range, i could get a 32inch lcd led tv (fullhd of course).

Back in the days, i heard lcd tv it's a "no-no" for monitor replacements.

How about nowadays?.. it is as good as monitors already?.. or should i just settle for 27inch monitor only?

Thanks in advanced for those who replied.

    Cheers

Well the image quality is usually good enough for the screen size (imo), but the response times on TVs are awful. Especially the ones in your price range.

If you play games with an xbox controller or similar then the TV will be OK but for any sort of FPS gaming or competitive gaming it wont be very good at all. Too much input lag and too slow response times.

I've been wondering similar things lately, but what i've read agrees with the other posters, TVs have bad input lag compared to even the budget monitors, mostly because the picture goes through more processing than with a monitor. I've now resigned myself to trying to decide between a Benq 120Hz 24" and 27" Benq. TFTCentral has some good reviews of popular monitors, very detailed too.

In that price range, you are significantly more likely to get a better monitor than a TV. The monitor will most likely be higher resolution as well.

I picked up an Asus 27" LED this week for like $320.

Also make sure you have enough graphics power, that GTX 460 is not gonna cut it at a 2560 pix resolution.

You'd need at least 2 of them.
