I received a beta key from liking Tribes Ascend on Facebook last night. I really like the game. It is fast, frantic and made me nostalgic for all those hours I put into Tribes 2 at the height of its popularity. Definitely worth a look if you were/are remotely interested in Tribes. I think its "freemium" model works very well.

Major Highlights
•The game no longer requires a key in order to play. Anyone can join the beta program by simply creating an account on http://www.tribesascend.com and then downloading the game. Players are reminded that their progression in the game will be kept once the beta ends and the game officially launches -- so time spent playing now will be rewarded at launch.
the game is sweet I just got through playing 4 or 5 rounds.
Does anyone have any idea what the "Rate" for this game is?
i.e. I know that most Q3 engined games are limited to a rate of 25000, so they use no more than 25KB/sec.
What's the command to see/adjust in the Tribes engine, or does anyone know what it does by default?
