Just got a code for this downloading the game now, only 1.6Gb but BF3 is updating as well so my modem is melting. Anyone else get a key?

Been playing since the closed beta, it's a pretty fun game in short bursts. Just wish there were more maps & bigger maps.

How do I get an invitation to the Tribes: Ascend Closed Beta?

The Tribes: Ascend Closed Beta is invitation only (you must have an activation key to play). We are starting with a modest-size population of testers, and increase the number of testers as time goes on.

There are three primary ways for people to receive an invitation:

You can register at: http://www.tribesascend.com to apply for a spot. Not everyone who registers will be given an invitation, but many will.
To guarantee a slot in the beta, you can pre-purchase the Tribes: Ascend VIP Starter package. This package includes automatic admission into the Beta program -- as well as VIP status in the game, a 30-day Booster and 800 Tribes Gold (at a 33% discount from the standard price).
Over time, we will run a variety of contests and promotions through various media outlets promoting the game and providing beta keys. Follow @tribesascend and @hirezstudios on Twitter, and Like Tribes: Ascend on Facebook to keep abreast of current contests.

I received a beta key from liking Tribes Ascend on Facebook last night. I really like the game. It is fast, frantic and made me nostalgic for all those hours I put into Tribes 2 at the height of its popularity. Definitely worth a look if you were/are remotely interested in Tribes. I think its "freemium" model works very well.

Major Highlights
•The game no longer requires a key in order to play. Anyone can join the beta program by simply creating an account on http://www.tribesascend.com and then downloading the game. Players are reminded that their progression in the game will be kept once the beta ends and the game officially launches -- so time spent playing now will be rewarded at launch.

So, anyone interested should feel free to jump in. I've just (eventually) got it installed (it took 2 attempts) and I'm about to strike it up now.
