My little doggy died this morning

Molly was put to sleep this morning at 11am 11/11/2011. Just when we had the two minutes silence for armistice. Took her for a walk yesterday, even though it's a bit of a struggle for her she still enjoyed it. Then yesterday evening her back legs stopped working and she was screaming with discomfort. Something to do with a bad blood clot. Maybe because she's had breathing problems too for years. She was 13.

    Thumb resize.

    Sorry to hear that.

Always hard to loose a friend forever. I'm dreading the day when I have to put my dog to sleep. He's getting pretty old, but he's still in good health.

Very sorry to hear that :(. She was a beautiful dog! At the very least you can be happy that she lived a long life.

Some people like to belittle an owner losing his/her dog but I couldn't disagree more. A life is a life, a bond is a bond and I'm sure she had a big impact on you. 13 years is a long time.

That's a ****ing bummer. I can still remember the look on my last dogs face as he went to sleep. It sucks.

That too bad, I would be demoralized if anything happened to my dog.

Thanks. Yeah, last night was the first time she's been in discomfort. We got her when she was three or four. She used to live outside in a shed with her brothers and sisters. When we got her in about 2001 she was a mess. Hair so long and absolutely filthy, she looked like an old mop. Went pretty deaf over the last few months, and also started loosing the plot a bit. I don't know if dogs can get dementia. She loved every minute of it though, and that's all that matters.

Thats really sad, I can't imagine how I'll be when my dog passes away...

He is 17 and he has been with me since he was 1 month old :( He's still the same except his eye sight is slowly going away.

My thoughts are with you mate, sorry for your loss.

My little one Tilly is 14 (Maltese Terrier) she has heart problems, can just about see and she has seizures, she's on tablets. To be honest with all her problems she's happy and in a good home. My thinking is that if you feel the animal is suffering then it's time to let go.

As for my other one Daisy (Shih Tzu) she's a pain in the arse, really naughty, but can't stop looking into those eye's and feel the unconditional love, she loves everyone and we love her.

    Too soppy?
