Cmon, share some impressions !
While Copperhead I can't say too much, it's safe to say that I was very impressed overall and will be happily dropping WoW like an ex girl friend who used to be hot but got fat and nasty. I played the Jedi Knight and chose the Guardian advanced class, Sith Warrior and chose the Marauder advanced class and the Sith Inquisitor and chose the Sorcerer advanced class.
The Jedi Guardian uses a single blade and was pretty fun but I hated Corscuant it was really large and rather confusing. The story line was interesting but really there isn't that much you can do with a goodie two shoes class.
For the Sith Marauder I had two light sabers and could cut down enemies in a blink of an eye and the two light sabers actually looked pretty awesome. I was a dual wield hater until I tried it. This story line was pretty fun and had lots of twists.
The Sith Sorcerer was hands down my favourite class and in the first talent tree for two points you can increase your force pool from 100 to 200. Loved the story line and by the end of the starting level you want to kill the person in charge of you so bad you can almost taste it.
So there is a brief impression of the game. I haven't said anything you can't really find online. I really enjoyed it and I think WoW is going to be in a bit of trouble if they don't start pulling out some magic tricks.

I expected very little from this beta and was suprised. Its no doubt lifts everything it can from wow but thats not a bad thing. I was not a fan of the graphics (IE the clone wars cartoon style) but it did grow on me as time went on.
I think this game stands a chance at being the next big game until "Titan" comes from blizzard.
I don't get it. People compare this game heavily to WoW and say the two are very familiar, yet they act like its going to be the next big thing. It does almost nothing to refine or advance the genre and its major selling point is a conversation system that is very superficial in that your choices hardly affect the final outcomes in the game.
It is more of a sidestep in the MMO genre rather than a step forward.
I was so excited for the game when it was first announced but as soon I got into the beta relatively early in the development cycle, the hype began to wear off and I became more and more disinterested and disappointed.
There are millions of Star Wars fans playing WoW today and many that flooded in from Galaxies after 2004, it is a huge threat. If it feels anything like what made those fans appeal to WoW in the first place, but feels fresh, EA will win the day.
Blizzard Entertainment is probably focused like mad on their "next-gen MMO" which I first heard about in 2006, and will more than likely get the players and a bunch of new ones back. This definitely explains WoW laziness, rehashing, and lack of proper and true new content for years.

As one of those fans that you described, I can't help but think that this doesn't feel that fresh at all. I have always been one of those people who is willing to give new MMOs a shot, whether it be Warhammer Online, Aion, Star Trek Online, or Rift. Many of the games I listed felt "fresh" at first but the lasting appeal was not there and the hype blew over for each of them. I am still on the fence about preordering SWTOR but from the experiences I have had during beta, the hype has worn off for me before it has even launched.
As long as the mail boxes work at launch I think it will do alright!
