NOT RECOGNISING GRAPHICS CARD

Hi again,

Well, apart from an hour having a blood test done, my PC mad son and I have been testing the card on a 6 month old Windows 7, i5 660 CPU with all the trimmings of a very modern motherboard for about 3 hours.

Unfortunately, it looks like the card did not make the trip here because it would not even perform at all on that system. It powers up, in that the fan revolves slowly like it has done from the beginning, but nothing else at all. We even had to go to the on board graphics connection to get anything on the screen.

I suppose I can try and find another PC to try it on but I really think I am wasting my time.

What do you think?

Assuming you have all the connectors (especially the power connector from PSU to the video card - without it you won't see boot) correctly and on another PC you won't get even a picture, my educated guess would be a faulty video card.

Sounds faulty to me. Either get it replaced by RMA if its still in support, or get a new one unfortunately.

DriverSweeper (Google it) and HD3870 drivers completely removed, and then install the latest ATI / AMD driver (from game.amd.com), take a look at sorting it.
