    security on the pics

Hi I've 1000s pics on External Hard drive.

Since I done fresh re-install win 7 now I can't access to the pics due to security is on which I didn't know it was on.

The only way I've to edit every single pics files to change the security (under properties - security - click continue) to allow me access the pics.

This is going to take me forever.

Is there quick way to remove security on the pics?

Right click on the parent folder go to properties, security tab, advanced, change permissions, delete your old user account will probably be random numbers and letters. add your user account to the permission entries add full control and check replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object. Also go to the owner tab change the ownership to yourself and check the replace owner on subcontainers and objects.
