question about nic and vmware (configure management network)

i am just now installing and starting the learning process for vmware.

    i have a server
    4 ports (nic)

i have been told out of a vmware server that 2 ports should be dedicated to the SAN and 2 should be for network/lan traffic.

so i have just finished installing vmware esxi 4.1.0 essentials plus.
    i am at the:
    configure management network: network adapters:

should i select all 4 nics so that vmware will do the load balancing ?
or do i ONLY have 1 selected via vmware and the rest configured via 2008r2 (btw - can a 2008r2 guest see a nic that i have not selected in vmware ?)

Well you should really put those nics in teaming mode and let windows do the load balancing.

As for the SAN, I really have no idea.

And no a guest OS can not see a NIC that has not been selected in vmware.
