In your opinion. He states that he got the materials cheap. I'm sure he got the labour done pretty cheap as well since he got mates to do some he couldn't do.
If you're someone who buys Coolermaster, Lian-Li cases regularly, it might even save money in the long run - providing he never moves or has to redecorate, although it'd be detachable from the wall.
If he drilled through the wall to mount an external radiator as well, that would be a bitch![]()
It's not to my tastes either, however that's a long way from describing as you did.
If it gives the chap pleasure designing and making it, let alone using it, then it's well spent.
My preference would be something similar made of wood, with adjustable monitor and desk top. But tastes differ...
I admire his passion etc but the end product kind of sucks ass to be honest. So yeah in the end it's a waste like drago said.
He should've put his time and money into making a water chiller or a custom case instead so he didn't have to resort to ghetto rad placement under the floor boards.
I'm sure you ment *gangster* rad placement under the floor
Tho I would assume and hope that with all the time and money going into such a project a chiller would be something he would have eventually.
yeah one of the things i would of done differently is not have a rad under the floorboards lol
It's not only that... It will become quite boring. After all that work and effort, the only thing left to do is spamming forums and cash in the replys how wonderful you've done it.
It's overrated.
For me the performance gain is that counts.
Like Quad pointed if guy build kick arse chiller and heavy overclock CPU/GPU, that would be something.
And light should come from monitor only, not from the desk surface.
