So to heat up for Diablo 3 (whenever that comes out) I just fired up some Diablo 2 action and was wondering if anyone could school me in what has changed since 1.10. Are there any significant changes that I should be aware of with 1.13? What is the main trade commodity? Still ani's and runeword items?
Runes are the main commodity last time I play regularly ~2 years ago. Key hunting is generally the way I go to get the runes I want/need and generally build my economy.. Torches and anni's are/were still good for trading. I haven't played ladder for a couple years now though. Don't really care at this point, got addicted the last couple two ladders, played hardcore for a few months, then quit.Originally Posted by FR0STY
Yeah thanks for the info! This game still has some sort of mystical draw to it. I keep coming back even though my 8+ characters of 80+ are all gone now. May they all RIP. Runes seem to be in demand like always. I was surprised by the fact that bots still rule Diablo 2....one would have thought that by now they would be gone...but no.
They raised the rune drop rate especially in Worldstone Keep. Runes are the new SOJ in trading (SOJ are still good for trading). Save all your runes, cube them to higher runes etc (this is what the norm last time I played last year).
The keys are pretty hot too.
It's still one of my favorite games ever.

No but it was a whilte ago. How's the duping and hacking? I remember getting tired of all the bots running around and that 99% of the player base was using map hack. I really hope they put a strong focus to avoid any form of hacking to the multiplayer part in Diablo III without using soul bound or other mmo stuff.

They are still aiming to release D3 at the end of this year, hopefully a beta will come around june.
You can still play in window mode which will your desktop's resolution in the window box. It's not optimal but I still prefer it before 800x600.
