@inigma:
Honesty did serve you well. Also the fact that the law enforcement + judge prolly know road conditions too in which you were speeding.
Came out perfectly with your fine !

my last Camera ticket was 12 km/h over, and i was fined about $190 cdn for it. so your ticket seems cheap to me.
seat belts tickets are about the same here, around $200 for each person not wearing one.
If I get a speeding ticket in my POV it never sticks due to my vehicle having a gov't installed monitoring device that records certain things including speed and is polled at 1 second intervals; so if the officer's radar gun speed does not match the recorded speed by the monitor exactly (to date it never has) then the ticket is dismissed. Gov't always trumps local police even if they have a calibration certificate. And no I did not get in trouble with the law and have a court ordered device installed in my POV; it is required for my job.
Here in Canuckistan you could be fined over 10K, lose your license and lose your vehicle. Even a minor infraction leads to a week of walking and $170 out of pocket here in NS..
yeah, i think it is totally retarded. i hate speed cameras, it is nothing but a money grab by the government. we have these mobile speed cameras, basically they are mounted in a van or suv, and then they park just outside construction zones, but where the speed limit is still technically down, even though you are past all the construction. or sometimes they will park in school zones on sundays, when of course no one is going to school. Very frustrating when you see that light flash.
i was always under the impression you Europeans had it worse than us, guess i was wrong.

School zone speed limits are only in affect when school in in session.
