3DMark03 Win98 not starting - SI3.dll

Hi,

3DMark03 ist not starting on my Win98. It says 3DMARK03\SI3.DLL needs a newer
Windows version.

After clicking ok it says a device conected to the system does not work.

Specs:
Asus A7V266-E
Athlon XP-M 2800+ Barton
RAM 384 MB
Sapphire X800 XT Platinum Edition (256MB / AGP)
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
Win98 SE
IE 6.0 SP1
DirectX 9.0c Okt06
NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1
Catalyst 6.2

I think this is case of latest SystemInfo not supporting Windows 98 any more.

You can uninstall Futuremark Systeminfo and then reinstall the benchmark from an older installer that does not have 3.xx SystemInfo, but I do not know where to find one offhand.

Note that 3DMark03 is no longer supported by Futuremark, so chances that this would be fixed are zero.

I still have on old installer, date from 2004.

If there is a way to extract systeminfo from the exe file I could e-mail it.....

That was true at the time it was launched. However, 98 compatibility was no longer tested when the final patch was released (98 being unsupported OS by Microsoft at that point) and while it is true that the page should have been updated at that point, I guess nobody realized that the SI update (which fixed a lot of things for more modern systems) would have issues with 98. Or that anyone would be using 98 any more for that matter...

Ok, all the sites i was looking (FileHippo, OldApps) just have 3.6.0.
