    World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

World of Warcraft got the latest box of expansion goodies just before the holidays and as Deathwing ripped up the world, even the old lands got a serious makeover with all new low level content. Cataclysm is what everyone expects, more World of Warcraft, but if you are an ex-player wondering how things are now in Azeroth and if you should resubscribe, we have an in-depth look at the new expansion.

Blizzard had an epic chance to return 40-man raid content to the forefront of the endgame, they fail miserably once again. Maybe expansion number 4?

I ceased paying any attention to Jarvis's reviews of MMO's a long time ago, thankfully. After the AoC debacle. I really should try that again soon :)

As for Cataclysm, it lasted me till about a week ago. Now its just dull again.

Back in EvE at the mo, maybe LOTRO later in the month.

    Re: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

Well, it was fun back when that was the only way to raid but these days people are spoiled by smaller raid groups (easier to manage) that I'm fairly certain something like 40 man raids will never happen again. Not in WoW, not in future games. Sad, but I can understand the reasoning.

Heck, Real Men raided in Everquest back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth and did just fine with 72 man raids...

I also have fun memories of some mass raiding in Dark Age of Camelot back when Trials of Atlantis was new. DAOC didn't have any maximum raid size or instances as such and TOA Master Level encounters were best done in massive zergs... 100 players was not unheard of and it sure made short work of any two-bit bosses

    Re: World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

I read up to 72 man raids and then blacked out....let me finish reading. ".......100 man zergs"

Ok call an ambulance. We had hell getting 40 together and then in TBC 25 was even difficult, then at start of wrath it was a lil easier but then the content was trivial.

You had no trouble with people not turning up to raids December>March when WoTLK was released? We had no choice but to do <20man raids and get the achievements. Even had to trick people into signing up to then send people over to Malygos [yawn]
