    Showing additional (ghost) drives?

    Argh!!!! Fudge!

For some unexplained reason my system (win7 x64) is telling me there are TWO optical drives installed. For a moment I thought windows has ballsed up, so I restarted and it'sstill telling me there's TWO! But In reality there's only ONE.

What could be causing this? And how I remove the ghost drive?

Do you have any virtual drives installed like Daemon Tools?

I'm guessing no, cause I dunno what they are..

I've accounted for the addon drives that are installed with my Dell but this is a CD Drive. Weird.

Right click the drive in question and choose properties. Check the hardware tab and see if there is anything unusual.

I still feel it could be a virtual drive. There are several programs that could create a drive like that. Daemon tools is the most common.
