New PcMark Vantage or a major Update?

Are we going to see any new version for PCmark Vantage or we could expect a new Update
    for it??

Its little odd that we cant use multiCPU systems in PCmark Vantage please can you answer
to all of us that we have PC's with more than 12 threads that we can test them like 4 or 8 threads?

consider that im using an dual Cpu Xeon PC and the score is lower than a 4~5 years old PC

please make the PCmark Vantage multiCPU compatible

    thnx in advance
    [surrender]

PCMark Vantage *is* multiCPU compatible - it just happens to have benchmark loads that are designed to mimic desktop use. Dual CPU Xeon = server/workstation.

As for future products, we haven't announced anything yet but watch this space...

yeah it recognise the threads but it use only one CPU (4 cores) for the hole test.
i can not understand eg. in the first test why do we have to use one 2 threads??
Every program from the 2007 and after it use 4 cores minimum??
i thing that u should set in every test to use the maximum power for every pc-server-workstations.

You have enable the 16 thread in Gaming 2 but i see that they dont count at all... im getting the same results if i have 16 or 8 threads enable no different at all.

i know maybe its pathetic but when u spent money for an SR-2 for example or for a dual Slot machine u expect full compatibility from latest and greatest benchmark platforms
    dont u aggree?

How about a fix for the single core user ?

Game test 1 always crashes when running the pcbenchmark suite, though when runnign the game tests seperately , all is fine...

That's very interesting. What kind of hardware setup you have?

Re: New PcMark Vantage or a major Update?

    Lo Sir,

    setup is :

    Asus Crosshair Formula IV
    AMD Sempron 145
    4Gb Gskill PC 16000C7
    Corsair Force 120Gb
ATI 5870 ( also tried with the GTX 285 )
    Windows 7 64bit

What I've tried till now, CPU stock/OC'ed, 99% the gaming test ( forest flies ) does not close the window, so it stays open and black. This only if I run the benchmark suite.

If I run the gaming test suite, can do 10 loops without any hickups. I'm not the only experiencing this as most single core users are having this issue in the Hwbot october combo ( http://www.hwbot.org/community/submi...145_5319_marks )

Being it on Intel or AMD single core CPU's. A lucky run get's you through (though I've doen 20 runs yesterday and each one locked up) I patched windows fully, tried 5 different ATI drivers. It has to be some cache issue or sortlike. I would liek to now if the Gaming tests were run first and then the rest if the lockups would still occur...

    Kind regards Albrecht

    Bump!!! Please look into this...

I got lucky :) I must have ran this test 50 times to finally get a score. Yep, 50+ tries to get passed "Gaming 1" at default settings.

Sorry, don't have any news on this - we haven't been able to reproduce the issue. You do state that "most" people in specific competition had this issue. Any information on their hardware configurations would be useful - we do not have very large pool of single core machines around any more, so information that would narrow down the specific configuration that causes this would be useful.

Do you require more information than this http://3dmark.com/pcmv/419864?pcmVan...dm05Results=27 ? Like I said earlier, this was a lucky run. The configuration in my link does not complete "Gaming 1" test except for maybe 1 out of 50 attempts.

I mean getting hardware configuration listings from other people who have reportedly had this issue. If we'd know the details on system config from, say, 5-10 different people who reportedly have the same issue, it would be fairly easy to spot what's common among them. We unfortunately do not have identical Opteron CPU in house but have tested on a single core Athlon64-based config without being able to reproduce the issue.
