Hey Kingkat, looks really great, why not putting a jungle cat there? any ideas about how long do we have to wait for the release? Are you guys going to include it with some graphic cards?

Release date is currently just "2010". Exact date has not yet been announced.

Previous 3DMark benchmarks have commonly shown up as bundled software with graphics cards. I would imagine same to be true with 3DMark 11, but that is up to the graphics card manufacturers.

Looks great, however some of the shadows don't look correct to me (or are just the surfaces so uneven?).

Looks nice. Defiantly the best looking outdoor scene 3D mark has done. IMO probably depth of field maybe used a little too much, I know it's easy to use lots of it to hide low res textures on some objects like the tree leaves. Though the scene overall has a highly blurred look so I think it's not as sharp as it probably should be.

Re: 3DMark 11 High Temple Tech Demo

I am pleasantly excited and dissapointed at the same time as I watch this video. On the one hand I am gasping at the scene at the level of detail and quality of textures... But at the same time I feel weird about it... Because its kind of like cognitive disonance.

I mean on one hand it has probably 5 times the polygons/texture resolution/effects than crysis 1... But on the other hand it looks less realistic?

Honestly, I am impressed by the fact that we've reached a time when this amount of detail can run real time. But at the same time, it reminds me of the types of pre-rendered sequences that low-budget cheap games had in the 90s. Its just that now its run in real time.

3dmark (mad onion times) used to be stunning because we could take this benchmark, and get a peak into the future. Like literally see what games are going to look like 2-3-4 years in the future. But since vantage, it seems 3d mark is only good to judge the amount of details and effects that future games will have, not the actual look.

Specifically, everything looks kind of plastic. Its as if its a high-end rendering of a plastic toy-forest... not actual forest. The jeep looks especially toy-like.
