Incidentally, if you're considering a gaming mouse, grab the logitech G700 (when you can afford it!) it's quite simply amazing.
I just upgraded from my old but also damn nice G7 and it rocks.
Can't believe I spent so much money on it but heh it should last at least another 5 years like the G7... hell the G7 only really broke cus I dropped it right on the middle mouse wheel / button... and I'm pretty sure I can fix it...just needed an excuse really.....
Anyway, glad you fixed the problem. If it was in classic aswell as FP it was bound to be a non SH issue really...
Turns outs the CM Storm Sentinel was made back in 2004 and I already learned my lesson with Ideazon's Reaper mouse not working in Windows 7. Why is the older mice are still in the $50 to $70 range? One lady was selling a Logitech G5 Battlefield 2142 mouse on Amazon for $400 because it was a "collectors item" in her opinion and she got short with me because I asked her if it had the new style cord or the old rubber one. What a crock of ****! And what a bitch!
Prices for gaming mice blows. I'm way below the poverty line in this country have to sell my neighbor's organs for money to buy this stuff!
Someone is sending me another g500 (he belongs in the Hall of SH Fame, but wants to me to keep it quiet who he is). I like the Sentinel. Turns out the mouse came out this year, but was in development back in 2004. Deathadder was my second choice. But I prefer the thumbrests from other's like Logitech, etc
I'm all claws! Used to be palm guy. But gaming really requires fingertip movement. I didn't like the G500 (took it apart instead of sending it in for warranty service--springs, pastic went flying). But I have less money lately than I've had in a long time and I'll take it as a gift!
In that case steer clear of the G700 lol...and 500 and 5 and 7... and most ergonomic logitech mice.
Don't you claw guys get cramp in your hand and such?!
The Saitek Cyborg rat series is supposed to be quite good too. Although the latest sensors that the new RATs and some razer models are apparently a bit screwed up (the ones that do independant x and y tracking). Nothing too bad I don't think but there are people complaining for some reason.
Dunno how cheap the RATs are.
There's quite a nice steelpad mouse too but that may be too ergonomic for a claw user... - you'd have to look into it. AFAIK that mouse is supposed to be reasonably priced. I think it was called an ikari or something like that... They've got some others that are quite good too.
I proabbly would have gone for one of those but I can't live without side-scroll. Use it all the time in games and normal use.
