COM Surrogate, any luck yet?

When running 3DMark06 and also Vantage they both crash at the systeminfo stage and close as "COM Surrogate" has crashed.

I have read through some other posts of this problem and it was stated that a fix is being worked on.

I was wondering if anyone has found a fix, or if one has been released yet?

My system spec :

Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.33ghz
Asus P6T-SE
6GB DDR3 memory
XFX HD5970 Black Edition 2GB
Asus Xonar D2 Sound Card
30GB SSD and 1TB HD

A patch has been done but is still in internal testing and as problems with it are identified and fixed, it is impossible to give a reliable ETA for the patch release, but we are talking about weeks, not months.

However, as it is about 5pm on Friday here, I can already say "not this week"

Several of us that have Gigabyte motherboards found that if we enable the Fast or Quick Boot option in the bios it causes this to happen. If we disable Fast/Quick Boot we don't get this error. It seems to have something to do with Fast/Quick Boot not verifying the DMI Pool Data. If you have something similar to this in your bios you might want to see if disabling it will help.
