    Apologies. By all means provide more details on the "No HUD". Semi-related, if you find a way to turn of the micrometeo-hemorrhoids in the bargain, I'd be ecstatic. I'd risk an SH-only throw-away account to the VACuum for some sightseeing at max resolution. The maps really need some good overview shots from a distance, for newbies, and as wallpapers.

    I can look into it, but if its something determined client side rather than server, I won't be including it.

    I have run at resolutions high enough to bog down to 1fps, but my comment referred to the invisible wall that kills you with meteroids off when you get too far away from the "designated battlespace". I want to have freedom of movement to get farther out and take shots of the map at a distance at wallpaper resolutions. Maybe somebody can photoshop some tactical tips in there that would help new players figuring out where objectives are located, and put names on landmarks so that those that try to play as a team can communicate better....

    yeah, when i removed dat1150 (see logan's video) It literally removes all notices. So I Was able to fly out there, and not have that stupid thingy going OMGWTFBBQ YER GONNA DIE OF MEATYWHORES. It also removes the red death flashes, and with my hud glitch (until logan finishes his mod) you can go out ther and take pics and video with no visual interruptions. the static noise is still there.

    Doing that at 2-3 fps does not get you very far, and you sure won't spin....

    Too bad. I have always assumed that the engine has a server option to disable this mechanism - the actual volume/plane is probably tagged specifically into each map - but I have given up on this ever being exposed to mere mortals.

    Last time I did this I changed

    by hand (it gets overwritten on any setting change made in the game). Hence the 3fps.

    No, the training servers do not disable the straightjacket walls. I suggested a year ago to have a no-gun no-wall sightseeing server/mode - I know would have used it for recon when I started out. With a flashlight to explore the dark corners, it would almost be SP!
