We have another contest lined up for you.

Gigabyte Overhauling 2010

This time the contest is for 3DMark Vantage users with Gigabyte-motherboards, AMD processors and Gigabyte-brand ATI graphics cards.

Contest runs from August 16th to September 12th.

We have two different categories for high score competition this time: Unlimited and Single Graphics Card.

To enter the single graphics card contest, your result must be done using a single physical graphics card. Dual-chip cards are OK.

To enter the high score contests, submit your score in the contest time frame and publish it for verification.

Graphics cards where the brand cannot be automatically detected (i.e. subsystem vendor ID is 1002 and GPU-Z for example shows the subvendor as ATI) are accepted for the contest and show up on the leaderboards, but to be eligible for the prizes the contestant must supply photographic proof that a Gigabyte brand VGA was used.

We're also giving away hardware each week randomly drawn among people who submit 3DMark Vantage results with the required hardware, so if you have a Gigabyte motherboard, AMD CPU and a Gigabyte-brand ATI card, make sure to log in or register to ORB to enter the lucky draw.

NOTE: If your graphics card shows ATI as the subsystem vendor, to verify the brand of your graphics card, you need to provide photographic evidence of having used a Gigabyte VGA before you can win any prizes.

Quick question.

I have some gigabyte ref cards that i flashed........I would gladly take pictures of the rig I bench. I however flashed the bios's that I customized to fix a bug with one of the cards, namely it had an issue with low power states for ram and would artifact on desktop.

If I reflash cards with the gigabyte vendor ID will this be a problem?

Also on the same token what is to stop other users using non gigabyte vendors cards flashed with a gigabyte vendor ID when they are indeed not Gigabyte cards. Maybe a Picture + screenshot requirement post is in order here?

These are the cards I plan to use but as you can see from this URL ( http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=2252036 )they do not ID as gigabyte cards with current bios.

Hey,

Your cards should be OK for the contest, given that the system information has the correct ATI and Gigabyte vendor ID's.

As for pictures, we're still considering whether to require all high score winners to submit pictures, or whether that's just something we'll look into if there is reason to suspect someone of cheating.

Anyway, for anyone looking to seriously taking part in the high-score segment, to be on the safe side getting a photo of your rig is a good idea in any case, if there are disputes.

Hey,

With the trial version, all eligible submits will be entered into the lucky draw based on the trial code used with some additional checks to prevent people from gaming the system by generating several trial accounts.

Eligible trial submits also end up on the leader board. If we end up in a situation where a trial score is good enough to win one of the high scoring prizes, the result will be subjected to the same validation as a regular published score.

In either case, if a trial version user wins a prize, he will be contacted with the same email address he requested the trial key with, so if your planning on entering the contest, please don't use a throw away email address for the trial key.
