COM Surrogate Error- Win7 x64

[necrotopsy]

here is all the information that i noticed has been asked for, for similar problems. but i couldn't find a solution to mine. It worked fine before. but i had my GPU(s) replaced, and windows 7 reinstalled, and even though i've installed all my latest drivers again and pretty much have it back to the way it was before the windows re-boot, i get this error.
hopefully you can help. thanks.

I fixed this. the Dell driver i was using was the problem. Once i changed to the driver on the ATI website it worked fine.

i think it sucks and I'm kinda mad. that's my OC'd score which is ridiculous. idk maybe that isn't bad for a laptop.

Thanks for the report. This kind of data is very useful for us - there are some known issues with the SystemInfo module and our guys are working on a fix.

It seems that things can break on some specific motherboards/bios versions and we've found at least two causes for these errors - one being that SystemInfo is getting garbage data from some motherboard/BIOS configurations (cause is currently unknown, working on figuring out why) and that in some cases the CPU identification partially fails (and due to a bug that is getting fixed, it causes the whole thing to error out).

There is currently no workaround beyond experimenting with older/newer BIOS revisions or resetting BIOS settings to default (these may or may not help, but are worth a try) but a fix is being worked on. No ETA yet, but it is being actively developed.

I know this is a month old, but we just figured this out today. Several of us that have Gigabyte motherboards found that if we enable the Fast or Quick Boot option in the bios it causes this to happen. If we disable Fast/Quick Boot we don't get this error. It seems to have something to do with Fast/Quick Boot not verifying the DMI Pool Data. If you have something similar to this in your bios you might want to see if disabling it will help.
