    MSI Neo2 865PE FIS2R
    P4 3.2GHz @ 3.6GHz
    2x512MB Crucial BallistiX
    6800Ultra

Best system I have ever owned.

If I imagine I still had the money I wasted on this S939 rig just because I wanted PCI-E I get a headache. Now Conroe is on the way and I have to switch mobo and CPU anyway.

Also, PCI-E is a shill, why don't we see sound cards / network cards that use PCI-E. All I see are graphics cards, which operate fine at AGP8x, and the ageia physics thing, which also has a regular PCI edition (afaik).
because pci-e is made for video cards and regular pci is just fine for sound cards ?

In short, 4800+, 6800U, 2 Gig generic, X-Fi Elite Pro, 19" LCD, Tera' of HDs

Monitor restricts res' to 1280x1024 and this combo runs everything OK (sometimes a step or two from max detail, but who's counting )

I've been resisting going 7800, more lately 7900, as I don't really need it - next LAN might be a different story though, as at my age I need all the help I can get .

Plus I just bought another car

Needed to upgrade my GFX card before I upgraded my CPU/Mobo etc. Picked up the 6800 GT (Which I do love.) Just recently upgraded everything else...so next card I upgrade to will be PCI-E (Which...I suppose was obvious.)

Figure I'll let the DX 10 cards come out...be improved upon, and then drop in price before I do it. I'm in no rush.

ALthough my card is artificating like crazy for no really good reason...I think I got a bum one from BFG...send it back...ask them to send me a PCI-E one instead...see what happens.

    Simple reason, never needed to.

Seriously I have my x800gto modded to 16 pipes and it play all the games I want, the way I want them.

The time when I make the switch will be when conroe or the next good processor from AMD comes out with the new directX 10 cards.

Seriously I never felt the need to change over to pci-express. But I guess that will change when my criteria are met.

Re: non PCI-E users gather please!

I am still on a AGP 8x platform but I usually upgrade components in my System when I have funds to do so.

My System Specs: (Running in "Performance Mode")

    - P4 3.0E GHz with HT
    - MSI 865PE Neo2-P (Platinum Edition) Mobo
    - MSI NX6800 Series GE (16x1, 6vp)
    - Corsair 1 GB VS-PC3200 DDR RAM (in DC Mode)

    Plus Points:

    - System runs great, Bus Speed is good, and all games run smooth including Oblivion at High Details.
    - HT technology serves the purpose of Dual Core and it is good for multi-threaded Apps.
    - System has very good OC capabilities and Mobo is great.

    Problem of shifting to PCI-E:

The problem is that when I got AGP 8x stuff in 2005 the PCI-E stuff was not available at that time and now for shifting to PCI-E sector, I will have to change my CPU, Mobo, Graphics Card and RAM. Now this will be a costly shift for me so I am sticking to what I have got. Though I usually get new components when I have funds.

The lastest component I have got is "Mercury SMART 1200 VA UPS".

But I will upgarde to Conroe and DX-10 Compatible System after a year.

    Specs.
    A64 3700+ (2.8GHZ)
    MSI Neo2 Plat
    X800XT PE
    2GB PC4000 Ballistix
    Audigy2 ZS
Plus all the usual bits & pieces.

Don't see the point of upgrading yet.
My X800XT PE runs what I use my PC for, although I don't game as much on it as I used to (360 is for that now)
I used to upgrade every 3 or 4 months, but as I've got older, I have better things to spend my money on.

Re: non PCI-E users gather please!

I am still running my 3.4E and X800XT PE. I can't run everygame in 1600x1200 like I used to, but I will settle for some loss in detail in games like Oblivion.

I am a father now, and if you have a child you would understand your priorities change

Still running with Applebred and 9800se both modded

Even though my other system (server) got PCI-E but it is PCI-E X4 with X16 slot (and crappy Celeron)

Will get overhaul when DX10 is out
