Do I need to reach a certain number of posts before I can PM? That's pretty stupid IMO.. I mean I get that it's supposed to reduce PM ad spam or whatever but i posted a thread and it said it was marked as spam and awaiting moderation but I could PM a mod to speed things up. I went through the list of online mods and went into each profile but there's no button to send a PM..
Unfortunately yes. This had to be done after some crafty spambots started sending PMs to every registered user - and the clean-up after such a mess is fairly complicated.
We apologize for the pain of having your posts hit the moderation queue until certain posting milestones have been hit but it is unfortunately the only way to keep forum spam manageable. The sheer volume of bot-generated forum spam these days is just ridiculous...
Indeed and a setting that I overlooked. I'll have to look for the code and ammend it to advise you to go to the Contact Us page instead.

I want to ask another poster a question but I can't. If I contact an admin would it be possible to be granted early access to the PM ability? Otherwise it seems my only recourse is to spam white noise posts until I reach some "posting milestone," which I'm reluctant to do.
