    Windows 7 Streaming to PS3

Wasn't sure where to post this but since this is all done with Windows 7 and no additional software, I figured this place was good.

Alright, I just got a PS3 and I would like to stream music and videos to my PS3 from my Windows 7 Ultimate PC. The PS3 is able to find my PC on the network and is able to play those sample music/videos that was included with Windows Media Player. I added my own Music and Video folder to the library, but the PS3 doesn't see any of those files.

    What am I doing wrong?

Update: My other PC with Windows 7 Home works fine. hmmm

I had the same problem with mine, never could figure it out and eventually gave up on it. Let me know if that works for you as I would like to get it working.

You have to have the media you want to share in the public shared folder. Then it will work I do it all the time.

Mines started working now. I wasn't sure why it worked all of a suddenly (I left the PS3 idle). When I turned off the PS3, all the videos disappeared again, I left it idle again and all the videos appeared. I'm guessing it just needed to load? I have 152GB of videos on my PC, could this be why it takes so long to appear?

No need for extra software, jusy go to homegroup and select stream my media. The PS3 will pick up the folders for all your music.

Fantastic software, it is very nice how it handles on-the-fly of files that the PS3 does not support native.
