Do you think Nvidia 3D vision will allow multi monitor gaming with rotated screens?

I own a Dell 3007 WFP and 2 x Dell 2007FP. I use them in in a "PLP" configuration ( 3007 in middle in landscape with the 2007fp in portrait mode in either side )

This setup is an ideal multi monitor gaming setup for something like eyefinity. But ATI do simply not allow for rotated displays.

Do you guys think the new Nvidia 3D Vision on the GTX 470 / 480 will allow for this? Or possibly someone have some information i dont?

ATI allows rotated displays, but apparently every monitor in the same group has to be rotated

The GTX4xx's solution is apparently purely software based, and requires you to have 2 cards in SLI to function at all

In short, no, I don't think they'll have more flexible options on that

I really hope they do, if so i will go and purchase a couple of gtx470s on release date and sell my 5850s...[cursing]. This is the one thing i am hoping these Nvidia cards do. ATI seem to be worrying about other things at the moment. [cursing]

I had before Viewsonic monitor that came with software that enabled rotating resolution (horizontal become vertical). That might work. I do not think that any card will support different monitor orientation.

What do you mean by other things? If you mean the new performance upgrades, the same driver also added crapload of new eyefinity and other functionality (including the 3D stereo functionality)

But like said, I doubt it's even as flexible as Eyefinity is, since it's quite rushed software solution compared to Eyefinity which is combination of hardware & software features & changes.

Dragomirc, it did WHAT? It couldn't keep native resolution on "switched", that's for sure, since the monitor only has x physical pixels

Another thing to add, using that combo, to work even in theory, would require that the rotated displays would have same resolution on horizontal as the middle has on vertical (or was it vice versa, anwyay)

Horizontal signal become vertical. I flipped monitor screen for 90 degrees and desktop was narrow but tall. I could for example see a whole page in Microsoft Word no need for scrolling. You never heard for it?

Oh, you mean just the standard pivot stuff?
Every card out there supports that without any special programs.
I thought something different from your explanation

Well that was 4-5 year ago.

So now Fermi is out, anyone know some more information? Any help is appreciated, if it supports PLP i can sell my 2 * 5850 and get 2* GTX 470.... Not been that happy with my 5850s anyway [no] My last few Nvidia cards have been spot on ( 8800gtx / gtx 280 ).

No new info on it, I'm afraid, but I still think it's quite unlikely that it would work.
