One good thing about owning a 5870 now

Well i had my 5870 since launch and it just ocurred to me instead of upgrading to faster single cards in the future ie 5890 or GT100 ect, it would be better just to add another 5870.

Currently the 5870 can handle anything that out atm no probs even Crysis with high settings run good, and i don't see anything coming out this year atm that will change that, christ even a single 4870 or GTX275 can run about 95% of all games currently out with full detail and AA & AF.

Now i reckon by Christmas this year the 5870's would have proberly dropped to the £150 mark to make way for the new cards that will be out at the time.

Which in my book would be a alot cheaper in the long run, adding another 5870 than buying either new card from ATI or Nvidia & still be up there performance wise with the best of them till well into 2011, as Dx12 isn't due for another 2-3 years, until the next Windows is launched.

So im my eyes it just makes more sence for me to go crossfire & save a good amount of money, than splash another £300+ at the end of the year.

As games these days don't really push the hardware like they once did.

I got to agree.... Nothing can touch my 5870 even on 1080p with AA enabled (except crysis for the aa)

I'm a generation behind, but I did the same thing with my 260s. It's worked out wonderfully.

    I like my 5870. :)

I think I'll stick with one, or else I have to switch motherboards.

If NVIDIA Fermi is ridiculously awesome, I'll grab that.
