    What kind of footage?

Since the video contest (and its 1min limit) is over, many people are waiting to use their new editing skills! Can you SH players tell us what kind of (new) videos you'd like to see?

Tutorial videos? On which aspect of the game?
    MPR boost runs/tutorial videos?
    Fragvids?
    Match footage?
    Funny vids?

I'd like to see combat vids that show off 6DOF fighting - aerobatics in space ... "spaceobatics" if you will. Showing the fast-paced and highly mobile nature of SH. Usage of cover, speed, evasion and surprise. All that please focused on objectives. Skirmish is nice for a change. But the heart of the game are Assault and Battle modes.

Also I'd like to see clever use of silent running. To me it still seems more gimmicky than really useful.

Lots of opportunities for cool, entertaining and educating vids. [thumbup]

Long scenes, anyone can cut out a bunch of 1 second-stab videos and paste them behind each other but actually recording consistent performance is a different cookie.

True, you want to see some *deaths* or an uncut 10 min scene for example.

    Re: What kind of footage?

Get at least 5 or more people in a server for melee only - or two :(

Have them record and then splice them all together onto the same screen to watch all perspectives simultaneously in glorious HD...

Best way I can think of to show off the full 360 motion.

Still, some other ones which would be good are short tutorial vids showing off the basics such as burst firing without leading the target lol and of course the common one I'm telling people about all the time: Charging Grenades for distance.

Personnally I would like to see a very well done video about the MPR boosting, because I can't do it in game.

Though I understand english mostly but the tutorial about that trick is a little bit confused to me...

Leaving out deaths is not much of a problem. But a good editor can make any noob look like a pro if he only selects the seconds showing the (best) kills.

But yeah longer shots are everything, in other shooters like COD, TF2 and ET(QW) movies pride themselves on what happens within one scene, not what happens within one movie.

    Re: What kind of footage?

Training Videos.. even with experience it would be a good thing for us all.. sharing talents.. educating others to be better, and even more competative..

Possibly strategy, use of weapons and mastering the Stab.. especialy Strategy since so many players have different concepts of gameplay.. the Goals of Captures, working as a Team, avoiding Spawn Killing, looking for Spawn killer apon Spawn, and any Video, that stops the newbees from not playing, because they just get killed..

Otherwise, funny videos.. we all have seen gameplay, Stabs and accomplishments of talent..

A Special request would be the art of Stabbing.. I have gotten better, and know that Timing is the big part.. but when a Player zooms at me, I mean Zooms real fast, and stabs me.. didn't hear, or see an MPR, and yet... wow, how did they do that.. I boost to Stab, and the timing of being able to also stab, after a boost is hard.. at least for me.. Example: Flipside.. I saw a Spawn Stab killer floating above Spawn, diving like bomb, and killing one after another.. Very Fast at you without an MPR, and yet if I hit forward, I am not near as fast (with a low ping/kick butt PC)... what is the secret.. I practice and.. frustrating.. I die with a laugh... a Training Video like that would remove some advantage, but also make the game better.. who wants to fight lesser talent.. I want to go up against the Best and learn from them..

Panther, I've found using the 'Swoop to Surface' works well for getting the better of someone else to stab them. You're not restricted like when boosting. You can go just as fast in the limited distance while still being able to shoot/stab.

Also kinda fun to be bounding across the landscape like that :P
