For me, I enjoy using the Human weapons a lot better and will always pick them over Covenant.

In single player I don't remember, it was a while since I played through but in multi player I go for Covenants, I like them more.
Nothing like wielding dual Covenant Plasma rifles.
I've always had a preference for the human weapons. The Assault Rifle defines Halo for me.
I think the best dual wielding combo is the SMG and Plasma Rifle. Plasma works better at knocking out the Elites and Brutes energy shields, and the SMG is great for taking them down after you knock out the shield.Originally Posted by terrannova

Online play, I find the Human weapons more superior as you can easily dodge covenant weapon fire plus it gives away your position.
Human weapons - particularly the Battle Rifle. Semi-automatic FTW. [thumbup]

I prefer the human weapons, as they are more recognizable. The 'Corps issued me a rifle, not wings, let alone plasma-based weapons. The man-made weapons also seem to have a much more powerful punch than the split-chin weapons: it just feels cooler to fire the Assault Rifle, Shotgun or Rocket launcher. When grunts are in my way, I intend on letting confetti rain. And when an enemy loses his shields, he'd better notify his next of kin, because once I've sprayed his raggedy-ass torso with bullets, they're next!
When fighting on higher difficulties or trickier sections of the games though, I'm no stranger to Covenant weapons. As a Spartan II, I am skilled and lethal with all weapons, including the strangest additions to the Covenant arsenal. A plasma gun will take down any shield, a plasma rifle will burn through any Brute, a Covy sniper rifle will split any skull!
Also, I bet I can stick it.
By far the best piece of ground warfare that the Covenant utilize. The sticky grenade!

I like how in ODST that the Grunts would go kamikaze with two stickies.
Do the Brute grenades stick as well? I can't remember? I know that they look like a stick grenade with spikes on top, so I would assume that it would stick to certain objects.
Kamikaze grunts featured in Halo 3, as well, and yes, Spiker grenades stick. In particular, they even stick to the floating lookout posts the Covenant use to place snipers in. Blows them up good, in contrast to the not-sticking-to-those-floating-outposts-Covenant sticky grenades.
