SiN Episodes: Emergence was nothing stellar, but I found it more enjoyable than Quake 4. Considering it was less than half the price, that's pretty cool!

Prey is awesome, but very short. It took me about 9 hours and 30 minutes to finish, but I took my time exploring the levels and listening to Art Bell's Radio Show (hilarious!).

Maybe we should start a thread asking who needed the most time to finish the game?

I picked this up Friday. No install problems.Fast load times.Good frame rates.Awesome graphics. No studdering"AKA HL2".This game may not be the best ever but it certainly wins me over since it plays so good.I have everything on high detail at 1024x768 and average 40-60 fps.Frkin frame cap sucks.I even have 4 AA on.BF2 is a great game but you can take a shower and make a cup of coffee and then by that time its loaded.

Not a bad game. Graphics are good, shows what the Doom3 engine is capable of. Yes of course it runs well now, the engine is far more optimised and hardware/drivers are better.

As for the story, I'd hardly call it 'great', let's see

Guy becomes disenchanted with his heritage
Aliens attack and kidnap people including girlfriend and grandfather
Guy goes on normal FPS rampage
    Standard scripted routines ensue.
Guy 'rediscovers' his heritage during rampage

That's about it. I notice that no-one here complains about the key-code system when so many were so quick to slam its use in Doom3.

Yes it's short, but not quite as bad as some here make it out to be. Playing normally, you're looking at about 8-9 hours, that's providing you don't go tearing through it, or cheating. The puzzles aren't difficult in general, but you might stop and think for a moment at a couple of them.

Gravity flips makes things more interesting for a while, then gets repetetive.

Overall, quite a nice game. Nothing outstanding. Does show a pretty mature Doom3 engine. Sound is not bad (if you're under 16 you'll no doubt appreciate the frequent swearing). But a lot of same old same old really.

Good FPS but not outstanding. The major fault I found was the game is very linear. So cannot get lost. There is only one portal and/or walkway you can use.
Besides this it has good graphics, runs very well, is of average length (8-10 hours), but $59.99 + 14% taxes in Canada, I really don't know if its worth that cost.

I hope they use doom3 engine for the next Alien vs Predator game. I think the engine still has plenty of potential for a good AVP 2 game. Graphics still look great, but most of all, it seems to be very user friendly and getting good performance even out of the most median setups.
